Have the correction notice or report, permit details, and spa model ready. We review the identified issues and your existing setup to outline the corrective work and quote.
Areas to review can include GFCI protection, disconnect placement, and equipment or connections that need to meet the spa’s installation requirements.
Protect yourself: keep the inspection record. Keep the written correction list and final electrical inspection result. Approval comes from the electrical inspection authority; a follow-up inspection may be needed.

ABOUT ME / THE PERSON BEHIND THE REPAIR
Meet Lawrence.
Owner of Whidbey Spa Repair.
Certified residential electrician.
Hi, I’m Lawrence, owner of Whidbey Spa Repair. My father served in the Navy and retired on Whidbey Island, where I grew up in Oak Harbor and graduated from Oak Harbor High School with the class of 2000. After years away, I’m happy to be back home and serving the community I grew up in.
I entered the pool and spa industry in 2011, starting as a maintenance technician before moving into service and repair. Along the way, I earned my company’s Employee of the Year award. When the company formed an in-house electrical team, I trained in residential electrical work and became a certified residential electrician.
With 15 years of industry experience, my approach is straightforward: understand the problem, explain your options clearly, and do the work properly. Whether you need pool or spa repairs, help correcting electrical issues, or new electrical installations, I want you to understand what I recommend and why, so you can make an informed decision without pressure.
I’m proud to take over Whidbey Spa Repair from Brian Coursey and carry on the business’s more than 25 years of service to the island. Whether you’re a longtime customer or calling for the first time, you’ll be speaking directly with the person doing the work—me.
BEFORE YOU CALL
A few useful answers.
Do you repair pools as well as hot tubs?
Yes. Our repair focus includes pool and spa equipment: pumps, heaters, filtration equipment, controls, and accessible equipment-side plumbing.
Do you install electrical connections for new spas?
Yes. We offer residential spa electrical installation, including dedicated spa circuits, disconnects, and final connections. Have the spa model and installation manual ready if available. The installation and quote depend on your spa’s requirements and the existing electrical supply.
Can you help with spa electrical inspection corrections?
Yes. We can review residential spa electrical correction notices or spa-related findings in a home inspection report and discuss corrective work. Have the written findings, spa model, permit details, and any stated deadline ready. Scope and quote follow a review. Required electrical inspection and approval remain with L&I or the local electrical inspection authority.
What counts as an equipment-side leak?
A leak at an accessible pump, heater, filter, union, valve, or fitting around the equipment. Leak detection in buried piping and repairs to underground plumbing are outside our offered scope.
Do you rebuild motors or control boards?
Our approach focuses on troubleshooting and equipment replacement rather than rebuilding motors or repairing individual components on a control board. The appropriate next step depends on the equipment and the fault.
Can I book routine cleaning or water care?
This service is focused on repair and equipment replacement. Recurring cleaning, water balancing, and routine maintenance are not part of the offered service here.
What should I have ready when I call?
Your location on Whidbey Island, the pool or spa make and model if known, any displayed error code, and a description of what changed. Photos of a visible label or leak can be useful; no need to remove equipment covers or touch wiring.
